Tree peonies typically bloom in the month of May. These stately bushes offer enormous flowers on strong woody stems and continue to add to the structure of any garden with deep green leaves in the summer and bronze and purple foliage in the fall. Tree peonies are slow growing. They will reach their full potential and height within ten years. All of our peonies, except the gansu varieties, are grown on there own rootstock. Given well-drained soil and dappled sunlight, they will live for centuries.
Herbaceous peonies bloom from late May to mid June. They are a perennial plant that are cut back each fall and reemmerge each spring. The cultivation of these hardy perennials dates back millennia,and thus an astounding selection of flower color, form, and fragrance is available. These flowers enhance the structure and beauty of any perennial garden and produce some of the best cut flowers available. They are resilient and live for generations.
