TYPICAL BLOOM CYCLE - The season starts with the bloom of the woodland Paeonia Japonica, moves on to a massive tree peony bloom at the beginning of May, switches over to coral herbaceous peonies and the species Paeonia Rubra, then on to the jaw dropping herbaceous bloom at the end of May into early June.

Have a GARDEN CLUB or GROUP you want to bring to the farm? Peony's Envy welcomes groups, we ask that you please give us advanced notice for groups of ten or larger (email peony@peonysenvy.com). With an advanced request it is possible to come early, at 10am before the gardens officially open. Please also note that parking is limited and carpooling is appreciated.

April 25

Tree Peonies are currently in bud and will begin opening the weekend of April 30th. Peak bloom is expected to occur on Mothers Day Weekend but will vary with the weather in the coming week.

April 11

Paeonia Japonica - Woodland Peony - Emerged from the ground in March, in bud now, will bloom long before the leaves come on the trees.

Tree Peonies - Sprouted from their strong stalks, leafed out fully and have begun to bud.

Herbaceous Peonies - Have sprouted to a current height of about 6"

May 2

Early blooming tree peonies are expected to peak the end of this weekend with late blooming trees, including Gansu Tree Peonies, peaking the end of next week through the following weekend. It is turning out to be a luxurious long and beautiful bloom that is not to be missed. Come see how the gardens have grown - meander the trails - sit and be at peace for a minute in this stunning garden.

May 9

The fragrance alone is worth the trip. Gansu Tree Peonies are in full bloom!

Come visit one of the largest collections of Gansu Tree Peonies in the country. These plants are some of our favorites. Deep purple flares extend from the center of lacy petals of pink, white, purple and magenta. Come see for yourself why they are some of the most exquisite tree peonies.

May 16

The Gansu Tree Peony bloom is slowly coming to an end while the herbaceous peony buds hold tight in anticipation. With the current weather pattern the herbaceous peonies are expected to peak the end of May into the first week of June, later if the weather remains unseasonably cool. Keep an eye on our website for the latest updates. Encourage your friends to sign up for our email lists to get weekly updates on the bloom.

May 25

The herbaceous peony bloom has just begun.

The varieties currently in bloom include the coral cultivars - Coral Sunset, Coral Charm, Pink Hawaiian Coral and Silver Dawn. Blooms will continue popping for the next few weeks with peak anticipated after Memorial Day into the first week of June - warm weather will accelerate this, cool cloudy weather will slow it down.

Come often and early as the garden changes daily once the peak begins. The cultivars  blooming on Monday will have given way to others by Friday. The gardens and nursery are open every day including Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 5pm.

Along with the beginning of the herbaceous bloom a few varieties of tree peonies are still in bloom. These include some of our most requested varieties: the dramatic white and purple crown form Gansu Tree Peony called Budding Beauty; the yellow peony High Noon, and the gold and orange peony Golden Pavilion.

May 27

Today the coral peonies are gorgeous and the garden is overflowing with peony flowers. We are predicting that the height of the bloom will be this weekend through early next week, May 28-June 2. We recommend coming a few times over the course of the bloom as different cultivars open every day. Don't wait, visit today.

May 30

Today is the day, the gardens are at the absolute height of bloom. Visit now. 

The bloom will continue throughout this week and into next with the peak happening early this week. Visit a few times throughout the bloom to see the progression and catch different varieties in bloom. Open everyday from 11-5pm including Saturday and Sunday through June 15.

June 6
